The high quality of marine research and education at the University of Bergen (UiB) has been recognised by a panel of international experts.

The evaluation panel stated that Bergen is a key-centre internationally in terms of marine research – however, organisationally, the panel said improvements could still be made.
Marine research and education are among the UiB’s main focus areas. In keeping with the institution’s strategy to have its key academic areas assessed independently, the panel delivered its report on Marine research and education first. The evaluation of development-related research will commence early next year.

In the report, the panel points out that they are impressed with the overall quality of Marine research and education. UiB is internationally renowned for excellence across several marine disciplines.
