Telenor Group is one of the world’s major mobile operators. CEO Sigve Brekke visited the Cluster Friday to discuss connectivity and partnerships with the Cluster to speed up the demand for innovation for a digitized future.

Together with our business partners Marine Harvest, Grieg Seafood and Cargill Aqua Nutrition and The Institute of Marine Research, we presented the Cluster’s ambition to take a leading position in the digitized technology in the aquaculture and seafood sector.

CEO Brekke confirmed Telenor’s interest to support the Cluster innovation projects by stronger partnerships in the field of connectivity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big data and analytics.

Telenor’s AI Lab with NTNU

Together with NTNU Telenor wants to promote competence building and sharing within AI, Big data and analytics. The AI Lab will run open source software, enabling local experimentation and cloud scale.

The Cluster has initiated “AquaCoud” exploring Artificial Intelligence Technologies to combate Sea Lice, together with IBM Watson.
