H.M. KING AND ICELAND’S PRESIDENT GUÐNI TH. JÓHANNESSON VISIT TO BERGEN
How can Norway and Iceland work together on being in the forefront when it comes to sustainable value creation form the ocean? This was the topic from today’s seminar “Sustainability for the Future-Value Creation from the Ocean.
The seminar was part of the official state visit from Iceland to Norway, in collaboration with Promote Iceland, Iceland’s Embassy, The University of Bergen and Innovation Norway.
Presentations related to sustainability, opportunities in new species and more value creation through utilization of the catch was presented to H.M. King and the President. After the Official State visit, business workshop on sustainable utilization of marine resources and technology development to explore new innovation projects s between Norway and Iceland.
-Norway and Iceland are both Seafood nations with a proud history and strong collaboration on value creation from the ocean. Together we have an opportunity to take a strong lead in the future ocean economy. This is our motivation for signing a Memomrandum of Understanding to initiate a collaboration between Iceland Ocean Cluster (sett inn hyperlink) and Iceland Ocean Cluster, says Managing Director Tanja Hoel, NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster.
