Ocean Industries Accelerator (OIA) officially open!
The new accelerator for ocean industries was officially opened in the heart of the innovation community at Marineholmen, Bergen tuesday.
Bergen Teknologioverføring AS is responsible for the initiative together with the ocean clusters GCE Subsea, NCE Seafood and NCE Maritime CleanTech, and the real estate company GC Rieber Eiendom.
OIA is a community for companies from the ocean industries, providing 18 offices and an open-space office, surrounded by other entrepreneurs. The ambition with the accelerator is to provide actors from the ocean industries shipping, seafood, oil & gas the possibility to cooperate closer and in a more efficient way. The new accelerator is primarily a place where one can share knowledge and participate in a network that helps produce better products, to get new projects started and to help new ideas to flourish.
A unique part of the membership is the access to important resources and competence. This includes the possibility to consult Innovation Norway, DNB, Steenstrup Stordrange and ZACCO regarding questions one may have.
Hilde Indresøvde, general manager at Nyskapingsparken gave us some thoughts around the initiative, and how the collocation contributes to growth, innovation and upscaling. After the official opening by Mayor Marte Mjøs Persen, the 60 attendances got the opportunity to meet the 15 start-ups, entrepreneurs and established companies already established at OIA.
